Salem Senior Ministry Team

This group of Salem members can probably recall more of Salem's history than anyone else. Makes sense doesn't it? We have been around the longest, been through all the changes in the church, the ups and downs, the slow periods, the wonderful growth. The times when opposing opinions were hotly discussed, and the times that we came together as a close church family and carried on for the good of Salem and to the Glory of God.

Through all of these times the Seniors carried on with their unwritten missions. Our goal and our purpose is to provide Fellowship and do Outreach Projects with a group of seasoned church members with like ideals. We extend an open invitation to all members or friends to join us when your ranking permits.

The following will give you an insight of our activities:

  • Monthly (Second Tuesday) get togethers for Fellowship/Programs and Projects, with a three month break in the summer time.
  • Provide, planning, food (donated and purchased), and serving for funeral meals.
  • Serve a Lenten Dinner.
  • Deliver to Salem's shut-in's, May baskets, decorated pumpkins and goodie filled Christmas sacks.
  • Cash donations to our own Caring Connection and to reStart.
  • Donated Salem Senior Cookbooks to Youth Group for rummage/garage sale.
  • Donated cash for blankets, cookbooks to be given away, and cookies to be served, all at the MLM Christmas Store.
  • Have bake sales with the Youth Group and any member who choose to donate.
  • A drive to collect coats for Johnson County Christmas Bureau.

We will continue to minister either by Senior member service or cash donation to any cause that God may lead the Salem Seniors to.
